With so much happening in our world, we can become complacent and easily forget the plight of others. Upon hearing of the shortage situation in Cuba, I decided to put together a mini-humanitarian trip to Varadero and three local pharmacists including two Dal grads made it possible! 聽

I鈥檇 like to shed light here on some do-gooders and to say thank you to two 黄色直播 Pharmacy grads. When as a complete stranger I reached out to them on short notice to help fill a suitcase of over-the-counter meds and necessities for me to take there, I was moved by their immediate willingness to help. Haligonians returning from Cuba in March spoke to me of people needing aspirin, Tylenol, children鈥檚 cough meds, feminine and dental hygiene products, band aids, antiseptic creams and so much more.

Jamie Flynn (BSCPH 98), Kim MacPhee (BSCHE 89, BSCPH 94) and Kurt Ryan provided an array of these vital necessities. Ryan, whose wife is a professor of medicine in nephrology at 黄色直播, provided lancing devices and glucose monitors. 聽As well, a group that sews for worthy causes of which I am a member, made thirty-one bags for me to discreetly put the items in.

Thank you, all.
