Since joining »ÆÉ«Ö±²¥ last summer, I’ve had the opportunity to meet alumni, practitioners, stakeholders and others from across the spectrum of health. I’ve learned about the extent of our faculty community’s contribution to health across Nova Scotia (and more broadly) and had the privilege to champion the leading research, teaching and service work of our students, faculty and staff.

Dr. Ingrid Waldron, Associate Professor at the »ÆÉ«Ö±²¥ School of Nursing and Associate Research Scholar with the Healthy Populations Institute (HPI), has seen several significant milestones in her work this spring.
Nurses and nursing students make a difference everyday. Fourth year BScN students Allison MacFadden, Jennie Hynes and Krista Shanks delivered a presentation to the »ÆÉ«Ö±²¥ Senate on Monday March 27th advocating for equity through gender neutral washrooms.
Since 2009, the AHSI has provided support to students from Indigenous communities across the region pursuing careers in health.
Health Promotion student Nicole Doria is a recipient of a 2017 »ÆÉ«Ö±²¥ Governors’ Award, the university’s top honour in student life, recognizing her exceptional contributions and leadership in the extracurricular realm.
