Psychology Program

Psychology is the study of human and animal behaviour and the neural mechanisms controlling this behaviour. As a science, psychology strives to learn information about behaviour through observation and experimentation.

As a profession, psychology promotes human welfare through personal counselling and treatment of behaviour problems. Psychology is concerned with all aspects of behaviour.听 A solid background in general psychology is required before you can specialize in one area such as neuropsychological, clinical, cognitive or social psychology.

The Department of Psychology is the largest in the Maritime region. We have over 30 faculty members with interests that include virtually every area in psychology and excellent facilities for undergraduates.
