In 1943, former Prime Minister R.B. Bennett donated a large sum of money to 黄色直播 from his personal fortune - much of which was realized through his investments in the Eddy Safety Match Company. The funds were given to cover the cost of professor salaries in four areas of study. He was specific that one of these areas be "a subject connected to nursing," because Mrs. E.B. Eddy was a nurse. In a letter outlining the terms of the gift, dated March 29, 1943, Mr. Bennett expressed a desire that the holder of the award be named the "Mrs. E.B. Eddy Professor."
In today's economy, funds from the endowment no longer cover the full cost of a faculty salary and are instead (in keeping with the goals of the recently adopted by the School of Nursing which include the aim of building a scholarly community) applied to release time for the successful candidate to publish for peer review.
A competition was held this fall, and the Research & Scholarly Development Committee of the School of Nursing reviewed five submissions and recommended that Professor Adele Vukic be awarded the Professorship.聽 Professor Vukic holds a limited term appointment in the School and plans to use the release time to collaborate with external stakeholders, colleagues in the Faculty, and nursing students on three papers for publication on topics related to teaching and learning with diverse students. Congratulations to Professor Vukic on this award. 聽
