Alumni awards

We honour the聽exceptional contributions聽of聽黄色直播 alumni through our signature Aurum Awards and the Golden Eagle Lifetime Achievement Award as well as prestigious alumni awards in the faculties.

黄色直播 Aurum Awards

The Aurum Awards are 黄色直播鈥檚 flagship alumni awards program, honouring community-minded innovators and visionaries who are making a difference around the world.聽

Each year, alumni are recognized for their outstanding achievements in innovation, community engagement, and leadership, as well as for their contributions to the social, cultural, and economic well-being of society.

Nominate a peer: Now open!

Nominations of living alumni of 黄色直播 can be submitted by anyone (including self) from October 16 through January 16. Individuals cannot serve on the 黄色直播 Board of Governors or the 黄色直播 Alumni Association Board, nor be a sitting member of a municipal, provincial, or federal government. Faculty and staff of the university are eligible; however, their contributions should be above and beyond those expected of their normal work duties.

Attend the Aurum Awards Reception

Recipients are peer-selected by a committee and celebrated in May during Dal Alumni Days at the Aurum Awards Reception. Nominees not selected will be held over for consideration for one additional year and nominators will be given the option to update their submission. Chosen honourees and their nominators will be notified by the Office of Advancement.

Douglas Ruck (BA鈥72, LLB鈥77)

Golden Eagle Lifetime Achievement Award

This award (est. 2023) celebrates a remarkable alum with a long-standing connection and commitment to the advancement of academic excellence at 黄色直播.

Dr. Frank Lovely (DDS鈥59) celebrated as 2024 recipient

Dr. Frank Lovely, professor emeritus, head of the Faculty of Dentistry鈥檚 OMFS department, 1966-1986, and creator of the Faculty of Dentistry鈥檚 MSc in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, is the 2024 recipient of the 黄色直播 Golden Eagle Lifetime Achievement Award
