Centre for Learning and Teaching grants are designed to support initiatives that have the potential to address student engagement and retention at »ÆÉ«Ö±²¥. Faculty and staff members are invited to collaborate with the Centre for Learning and Teaching on the development of proposals for projects designed to enhance the learning experiences of students in any year of study. Teaching an​​​​d Learning Enhancement Grants
​​(Deadline: February 28, 2020)
These grants will provide support for »ÆÉ«Ö±²¥ educators who are interested in engaging in projects to enhance teaching and learning, through the design and development of new or alternative approaches to enhance student learning at the course, department or Faculty level. The overall aim of these grants is to foster deep and impactful student learning and promote faculty members’ professional development of teaching.​
Scholarship of Teaching and Learning Gr​​ants
(Deadline: Mar​​ch 13, 2020)
These grants will provide support for »ÆÉ«Ö±²¥ educators who are interested in developing a project that studies, assesses, and/or evaluates the impact of a particular research question on students’ learning. This might include, but not be limited to, the development of new or revised initiatives, programs, courses, use or creation of open educational resources (OER), and/or methods/activities/assessments in teaching and learning.​​​​
Change One Thing Challe​​nge
(Deadline: February​​ 10, 2020)
°Õ³ó±ðÌýChange One Thing Challenge is an open invitation to the university teaching community to submit a description of a student engagement activity that has been developed as part of their current teaching practice, and that they believe has a positive impact on student learning.​
​K. Lynn Taylor Educational Conference Presentation Travel G​​rant
(Deadline, Janu​​ary 13, 2020​)
This grant will assist in funding travel costs incurred by faculty who have been accepted to give a scholarly presentation at an academic conference with a focus on teaching and learning in higher education, or a pedagogical session (focused on teaching and learning in higher education) at a discipline-based conference. For this funding, scholarly presentations include presenting a research paper or a poster (finalized or preliminary findings), facilitating a workshop, or participating on a panel or roundtable. Â
Funds can cover any form of transportation expense (car, bus, rail, air), hotel accommodation, and/or conference registration.
