DEPARTMENT/LOCATION:聽 Department of Earth Sciences, Primarily LSC-2012 (GIS Teaching Lab).
PAY RATE:聽 According to CUPE Agreement Local 3912
WORK ASSIGNMENT:聽 Teaching Assistants will be responsible for assisting the primary instructor in teaching the laboratory component of ERTH 3500: Geoscience Information Management. Primary duties include supervising laboratory sessions and grading student lab submissions. The Teaching Assistant reports directly to the instructor of ERTH / ENVS / GEOG 3500 (Dr. Christopher Greene). Successful applicants for the TA65 positions will be responsible for supervising four afternoon laboratory sessions per week (1-4 pm on Monday to Friday) from May 6th to May 24th. Applicants may be expected to assist in marking student submissions in the week following the final lecture (May 24th to May 28th).
REQUIREMENTS: Teaching Assistant must have a minimum of a bachelor's degree with demonstrable experience with Geographic Information Systems software (ArcGIS Desktop, ArcGIS Pro, ESRI online environment). Experience managing both vector and raster data, including remote sensing imagery would be an asset. The Teaching Assistant must be reliable, energetic, and enthusiastic about the position.
