POSITION: Laboratory Demonstrator/Instructor​ (multiple positions available)​
DEPARTMENT/LOCATION: School of Physiotherapy, Faculty of Health
SALARY / PAY RATE: As per CUPE Collective Agreement (hourly rate)
WORK ASSIGNMENT: PHYT 5105.12 Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy(January 07, 2019 to April 30, 2019).
DESCRIPTION OF WORK:Â The laboratory demonstrator/instructor will assist the course professor by teaching lab material to Year I MSc PT students in practical/lab sessions. Lab handouts will be available electronically that cover the hands-on practical clinical skills of the various physical assessments as well as the various treatment approaches from acute care to discharge.
Numerous lab instructors will be required to cover the multiple lab and tutorial sessions. The level of lab instructor involvement would be varied. For example, it could be 1 or 2 labs per module or 1 to 2 lab sessions per week. This would depend on the instructor's level of skill, availability and the type of expertise required (inpatient orthopaedics, manual therapy skills). Laboratory instructors will also be asked to act as an examiner in mid-term (March 1) and final practical exams (must be available all day Friday, April 12).
Further detail regarding the layout of the module, specific hours and content of the various laboratory sessions will be forwarded to interested individuals upon receipt of the application form.
REQUIREMENTS OF POSITION: Candidates must be licensed Physiotherapists. A Master's degree and /or advanced continuing education courses preferred along with strong clinical expertise in musculoskeletal physiotherapy.
