POSITION: Teaching Assistant (1 position) Fall 2018 (September–December, 2018)
DEPARTMENT/LOCATION:Â School of Information Management / Faculty of Management
PAY RATE:Â As per CUPE Collective Agreement (90 hours)
(as of Sept 1 2018, approximately $23.90/hr including vacation pay)
WORK ASSIGNMENT:Â The Teaching Assistant will assist with the instruction and grading of students in INFO 6630 (User Experience) course. Duties include, but are not limited to: delivery, and assisting in the preparation, of weekly hands-on exercises; responding to queries in established office hours and via email; providing extra-help sessions as needed; meeting with students to define projects; and grading assignments.
REQUIREMENTS OF POSITION: The successful candidate will be familiar with computer systems and emerging technology, particularly usability and user experience; information systems; new and emerging technology; design and requirements engineering; user studies and ethics approvals. Some training is possible for candidates unfamiliar with a few topics but with an appropriate background. This familiarity may be demonstrated by performance in relevant courses, publications, or job experience. Previous tutoring and/or teaching experience are considered assets; at minimum the successful candidate will be comfortable explaining technical concepts to non-technical students.
