PAY RATE: Half-class stipend, according to C.U.P.E. agreement
WORK ASSIGNMENT
To teach English 1100.03 section 03, Writing for University, in the Fall term of the 2017-2018 academic year, currently scheduled for Tuesday/Thursday 13:05-14:25. This section of ENGL 1100, restricted to students registered in the »ÆÉ«Ö±²¥ Nursing and Health Promotion programs, is expected to have an enrollment of approximately 150 students. The part-time academic will be responsible for teaching the class as a whole and supervising a number of teaching assistants who will lead tutorials on Thursdays. The part-time academic will be responsible for all aspects of teaching and administering the class, including lectures, supervision of up to five teaching assistants, test preparation and evaluation, and grading the final exam. The part-time academic should also be available for two hours per week for consultation with students. The position reports to the Chair of the Department.
QUALIFICATIONS
Applicants should possess a Ph.D. in English or be in the final stages of a Ph.D. program. Previous experience teaching writing and composition at the university level and familiarity with writing for the Health Professions is required.

The part-time academic should also be available for two hours per week for consultation with students. The position reports to the Chair of the Department.
QUALIFICATIONS
Applicants should possess a Ph.D. in English with a specialization in modernist or 20th-century literatures. Preference will be given to candidates whose research or teaching has addressed the representation of masculinity in 20th-century literatures. Previous experience teaching at the university level is required.
