Ten month, 80% Limited-Term Appointment

Applications are invited for a 10-month, 80% limited term Instructor appointment in the Department of Biology at »ÆÉ«Ö±²¥. This appointment will be for ten months beginning July 1, 2016 and ending April 30, 2017.
The Instructor will be responsible for overseeing the laboratory portion of Biology 2060, Introductory Ecology in the fall of 2016, the development and delivery of the lecture component of BIOL 2060 in 2017 winter term, and development and instruction of Biology/Marine Biology 4080, Laboratory Study of Fishes in the 2017 winter term. In the fall of 2016, the position involves delivering the prepared activities and assignments for BIOL 2060 laboratory component as well as co-ordinating and troubleshooting the laboratory. In the winter of 2017, the position will include development and delivery of the BIOL 2060 lecture material as well as student assessment using clicker technology and exams. In addition, the instructor will be responsible for the development and delivery of the new fishes laboratory course BIOL/MARI 4080. Other duties will include the following: supervision of lab set-up and general preparation, marking and recording, supervision of teaching assistants, a! nd communicating with students and other faculty.
Candidates should have an advanced degree in biology, and previous teaching experience. Candidates must also have demonstrated teaching ability, good interpersonal skills, and the ability to work as a team member.
Salary will be according to qualifications and experience, as determined by the Collective Agreement between The Board of Governors of »ÆÉ«Ö±²¥ and the »ÆÉ«Ö±²¥ Faculty Association.
