Teaching Assistant Positions in the History of Science and Technology Programme, University of King鈥檚 College

The History of Science and Technology Programme (HOST) at the University of King's College invites applications for Teaching Assistant positions for "Introduction to the History of Science" (HSTC 1200, cross-listed with HSTC 2200, SCIE 2000, HIST 2074, and BIOL 3503) in the 2013/14 academic year. The deadline for applications is Monday, 26 August, 2013.

This class is a broad, introductory survey of the central developments in the history of science from the ancient world to the present. It is open to first-year and higher-level students in both arts and sciences at King's College and 黄色直播. TA duties will include mandatory attendance at lectures (2 hrs/week), conducting tutorials (at least 1 hr/week), marking assignments and tests (3/term), and assisting students as needed with their assignments. TAs for this course must also be prepared to consult on a regular basis with the other TAs in the course regarding the approach taken in tutorials, which constitute a vital component of instruction. Please consult the 黄色直播 Academic Timetable regarding the class times to ensure there are no scheduling conflicts with other commitments.

Candidates may come from various fields (this is a widely interdisciplinary programme) but should have at least an undergraduate degree. Graduates who have taken courses in or graduated from the HOST programme, or who have combined an interest in the sciences and the humanities in their education, are especially encouraged to apply. Pay scale will match the recent collective agreement between 黄色直播 and CUPE for TA 260. The University of King's College is an equal opportunity employer.
