POSITION (1):ÌýÌýÌýÌý Sessional Lecturer:Ìý HSCE 1000.03 - Foundations of Health Care Practice
Course delivery is online -- Summer 2013 (May 6 2013-July 27 2013).Ìý Students taking this distance course are post-diploma students who are located throughout Canada.

DEPARTMENT/LOCATION: School of Health Sciences

PAY RATE: In accordance with CUPE Collective Agreement

WORK ASSIGNMENT: Responsibilities include development of course materials, teaching, student evaluation, administration of the course, working with/supervising a teaching assistant.Ìý Topics include: introduction to university study, conceptual models of health and illness, health care systems, models of care, professionalism, communication and the application of research knowledge to practice. This class will accept up to a maximum of 50 students.

REQUIREMENTS OF POSITION: Knowledge of health services research and critical thinking methods.Ìý Previous teaching experience desired.Ìý A relevant master's degree preferred.Ìý Experience with BLS or equivalent would be considered an asset.Ìý Excellent organizational and written communication skills are required.

POSITION (2):ÌýÌýÌýÌý Sessional Lecturer, HSCE 2000.03 Health Care Ethics.Ìý Course delivery is online –
Summer 2013 (May 6 2013-July 27 2013).Ìý Students taking this distance course are primarily post-diploma students who are located throughout Canada.
ÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌý Ìý
WORK ASSIGNMENT: To be the instructor of record for HSCE 2000, an introductory course in health care ethics. Responsibilities will include development of course materials, course delivery, teaching, and administration of the course.Ìý Topics include: moral theory and principles and ethical issues in health care.Ìý This class will accept up to a maximum of 50 students.

REQUIREMENTS OF POSITION: Knowledge of health care system, expertise in the course topics, and previous teaching experience desired. A master’s degree is required.Ìý A relevant master’s degree in ethics is preferred. Experience with BLS or equivalent would be considered an asset.Ìý Excellent organizational and written communication skills are required.
