QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE:
Educational background in social work with extensive experience in social
work (or related fields) is required. The successful incumbent is required
to have solid knowledge of a variety of critical and social work skills and
the ability to impart these skills to students. A Master of Social Work
degree, or higher, and previous teaching experience is preferred.
JOB SUMMARY:
SLWK 4010: Advanced Social Work Practice, is a Distance Education course
running from May to June, with a two week on-campus residency component
occurring in May. The co-instructor is responsible for co-administering the
activities during the two week student residency component and completing
evaluations once the residency has ended. The co-instructor will provide
hands on skill development related to counseling, group work, community
development, policy work, etc. The co-instructor will view and offer
feedback on videotaped student work; both in the context of teaching with
students and for evaluation purposes. The co-instructor must be familiar
with the core course objectives of SLWK 4010 (and critical social work)
prior to course commencement and is required to carry out student evaluation
after completion of the two week residency. This position reports to the
Director of the School.

WORK ASSIGNMENT (Bachelor of Social Work Program):
SLWK 4010: Advanced Social Work Practice, Summer 2013.
Classes are scheduled on Monday, May 6 to Friday, May 17 from 8:30am –
4:30pm. However, this co-appointment runs from May 1 to May 31, 2013.
