POSITION: PART-TIME OCCUPATIONAL THERAPY INSTRUCTORS: 2013
January -April 2013:
These positions will be responsible for tutoring groups of 9-10 students in the following courses:
OCCU 5111 Fieldwork: Tuesday afternoons and alternating Friday afternoons
(up to 4 positions, 30 hours each)
OCCU 5004 Assessment and Analysis: Tuesday mornings (up to 4 positions, 40 hours each)
OCCU 5005 Enabling Occupation 2: Wednesday mornings (up to 4 positions, 50 hours each)
OCCU 5006 Wellness and Inclusion by Design & Technology: Thursday mornings (up to 4 positions, 40 hours each)
May - June 2013 (7 weeks):
These positions will be responsible for tutoring groups of 9-10 students in the following courses:
OCCU 5043 Program Evaluation for Occupational Therapists: Thursday mornings or afternoons, (up to 4 positions, 20 hours each)
PAY RATE: According to the CUPE Collective Agreement
WORK ASSIGNMENT: Under the guidance of the Course Professor and/or Lab Coordinator, each Instructor will tutor and evaluate a group of 9-10 students using problem and case-based learning in Occupational Therapy Skills Labs.聽 Tutors may be required to attend on-site special events labs or exams on alternative days with advanced notice. Off-site preparation, marking and/or office hours for some courses may also be required. Instructors are required to attend orientation sessions prior to the academic term (to be scheduled). As time permits, other duties may be required to assist with lab preparation and/or delivery.
REQUIREMENTS: BSc(OT) with excellent communication and organizational skills; preference given to applicants with a minimum of two years practice experience and scheduling flexibility. Experience with student teaching/supervision and knowledge/familiarity with educative distance technologies will be an asset. Good computer skills and use of the internet required for literature searches and course support. Current registration as a licensed occupational therapist required.
