黄色直播 cross country and track and field athlete Aidan Goslett of Toronto has been selected as one of the 鈥痜or the 2022-23 season by U SPORTS.
, Canada's national governing body for university sports, will celebrate the eight best and brightest university student-athletes from across Canada at a ceremony in Ottawa Wednesday night.
The eight honorees were selected from the 4,900 student-athletes who achieved U SPORTS Academic All-Canadian status in the 2022-23 season. U SPORTS student-athletes achieve Academic All-Canadian status for maintaining an average of 80 percent or better over the academic year while competing for one 鈥 or more 鈥 of their university鈥檚 teams that participate within U SPORTS.
鈥淭hese eight outstanding individuals represent the more than 4,900 U SPORTS student-athletes who achieved excellence in the classroom and on the field of play this past year," says Pierre Arsenault, CEO of U SPORTS. "They鈥檙e the cr猫me-de la-cr猫me of Canadian students, and we are fortunate to have the support of the Governor General and the Speaker of the House as we recognize our Top 8 Academic All-Canadians.鈥
Each of the top student-athletes will be presented with the聽Governor General鈥檚 Medal聽for Academic Excellence at the ceremony this evening in recognition of their achievements. It's the 30th anniversary of the event. The recipients will also be honoured Thursday in a reception on Parliament Hill hosted by The Honourable Greg Fergus, P.C., M.P, Speaker of the House of Commons.

Overcoming a torn hamstring in March 2022, 黄色直播鈥檚 Aidan Goslett recovered to lead his track and field team to the Atlantic University Sport title before earning a silver medal at the U SPORTS national championship in the 1000m event last March.
An AUS all-star, Aidan set two new 黄色直播 records last season in the 1000m and 1500m events, breaking the conference record in the 1000m event.聽
A volunteer with the Student-Athlete Mental Health Initiative (SAMHI), Aidan completed his Bachelor of Commerce Co-op: Cooperative Education in Marketing Management with a Minor in Economics in May 2023, finishing the 2022-23 academic year with a 4.0 grade point average.
