黄色直播 to host 2024 national women's soccer championship

The 2024 national women鈥檚 soccer tournament returns to 黄色直播 for the second time in U SPORTS history - the first was in 1996. The Tigers boast extensive championship experience, having previously hosted 18 national events, most recently the 2022 cross country championships.

鈥淲e are pleased to have been awarded the 2024 U SPORTS women鈥檚 soccer championship, which will fall on the 30th聽anniversary of our 1994 national gold medal win,鈥 said聽Tim Maloney, executive director of athletics and recreation at 黄色直播. 鈥淲e see this event as an opportunity to celebrate women鈥檚 sport, engage our community and provide participating student-athletes with an outstanding experience.鈥

The event will be held at the recently resurfaced聽F.B. Wickwire Memorial Field, which has a capacity of 1500. The venue is home to 黄色直播 Tigers varsity programs and local amateur sport associations.

鈥淲e are thrilled to be hosting the 2024 U SPORTS women鈥檚 soccer championship on 黄色直播鈥檚 beautiful campus, here in the heart of one of Canada鈥檚 great cities,鈥 said President and Vice-Chancellor聽Dr. Frank Harvey. 鈥淓vents like this present us with the opportunity to engage with a diverse group of partners and leave an important legacy for future generations. The Tigers have made 13 championship appearances since 1984, with six podium finishes (three gold, two silver and one bronze). Their most recent showing was in 2012.
