Fifth-year setter聽聽has been named the U SPORTS women's volleyball player of the year and a first team All-Canadian. A three-time AUS MVP and five-time AUS first team all-star, this is the first time she is receiving the MVP award, and her third time being honoured as a U SPORTS first team All-Canadian.聽
A kinesiology student from Bridgewater, N.S., Baker finished second in the conference in both assists (607) and assists per set (8.93).
She appeared in 21 matches for the Tigers this season, helping the team finish first in the AUS standings with a 19-1 record.
She is the second player from the 黄色直播 Tigers to be named the nation's most valuable player, after Karin Maessen took home the honour in 1981-82.
Also recieving national recognition is fifth-year middle blocker聽. A medical sciences and engineering student, she has been named a second team All-Canadian after earning her second AUS all-star nod a few weeks ago. The Waverley, N.S. native led the Tigers in service aces, blocks and blocks per set this season.
