Track and Field - CIS Championship
»ÆÉ«Ö±²¥â€™s track and field teams travelled to Edmonton, Alta. to compete in the CIS championships from March 7-9. The men’s team finished 10th overall with Robert McCulloch claiming a bronze medal in the pentathlon for the second year in a row. He also placed sixth place in the high jump. Simon Watts last year’s CIS triple jump champion earned a bronze medal this year, giving him a total of four CIS championship medals during his Tigers career. Rebecca Haworth and Elizabeth MacDonald earned a fourth place finish in high jump and sixth place finish in weight throw, respectively. Haworth also was the recipient of the student-athlete community service award. Way to go Tigers!
Women’s Basketball - AUS Championship
The Tigers opened up the AUS championship against Memorial Friday night at UNB in quarter-final action. Although Dal was down by a few points at the end of the first quarter, the Tigers came out strong in the second quarter and were able to maintain a slight lead until the start of the fourth. The Sea-Hawks stepped up their game, and were able to gain a 10-point lead on the black and gold. Despite a 21 point effort by Tessa Stammberger, the Tigers fell 72-62 putting an end to their season.
