Two years ago, the Conservative government passed legislation setting out fixed federal election dates every four years, with the next election falling October 2009. It now appears that the Prime Minister is going to ask the Governor General to dissolve parliament and call for an election next month.
Is Stephen Harper justified in calling an election at this time?
