Dan Boudreau is the winner of the first annual Dr. Ron Stewart Award for student leadership in international health. This award聽 honours Dr. Stewart's personal, professional and educational support and dedication to international health and the advancement of social capital worldwide. Dr. Stewart, a former provincial Minister of Health and Order of Canada recipient, has been enriching students' experiences at the 黄色直播 Medical School for many years as a popular and accomplished educator, Director of the Medical Humanities program and as a key champion for international health education experiences for medical students.

Dan Boudreau is a third year medical student at 黄色直播. Over the past two summers he has participated in 黄色直播 International Health Education Program in both Tanzania and South Africa and has been a great ambassador for the 黄色直播 Medical School. Dan has been tireless in raising funds to support the work of individuals and groups he's made contact with during his international experiences.

In the nomination letter for this award, a fellow student writes: "What makes Dan's work so special and so important is that he truly does what he does for the benefit of others; his work is often done "behind the scenes". He leads by example and has no expectation of recognition or reward. So many of us begin medical school with the hope of someday making a difference in our communities and in the world around us; Dan is a true example of how to begin today."

The award was presented to Dan at the Rich Man Poor Man Dinner on April 6, 2006.
