Call for 鈥淓XPRESSIONS OF INTEREST鈥 #1
Course delivery of the courses 鈥淢GMT 5006 鈥 Program Evaluation, Part 1鈥 (online) and "MGMT 5106, Program Evaluation, Part 2" (2 day intensive) for 黄色直播鈥檚 Master of Information Management Program in the Fall 2018 term.
The 黄色直播 Master of Information Management program is delivered in a blended on-line/distance delivery and face-to-face format.聽 The program was designed to meet the unique needs of working professionals in information management sector; this program is unique in Canada.
The program requires delivery/teaching of course materials for its Program Evaluation, which will include 12 weeks of distance education and a 2 day classroom component in Halifax and/or Ottawa.聽 To this end, this call for expressions of interest is being circulated with the aim of securing the participation of an appropriate academic instructor in this subject area. The course has an approved syllabus; and the course developer will have some flexibility to amend this.
Program evaluation is a structured approach to assessing program delivery with a goal of continuous improvement. This class introduces theories and techniques of evaluation including goal-setting, planning, design, development of indicators and measures, data collection, qualitative and quantitative analysis and legislative frameworks. Case studies based on your workplace experiences are discussed. The class then concludes with a discussion and study of how to build evaluation capacity in your organization.
COURSE GOALS
The goals of this course are to:
- To provide an understanding of evaluation theory, components of and approaches to evaluation;
- To provide an understanding of how to apply credible evaluation methods in program management; and
- To encourage an engagement with the debates and issues in the practice of evaluation.
COURSE OBJECTIVES
By the conclusion of the course students should be able to:
- Apply evaluation theory and program theory to evaluation practice;
- Prepare an evaluation framework as a part of program management; and
- Encourage debate on approaches to evaluation practice and contribute to debates using evaluation theory and program theory.

The Instructor has agreed to provide the following services in the course:
- Prepare for and present the required course material for the distance portion of the course using available聽 on-line tools and technologies
- Preparation and grading of all assignments.
- Prepare for and present the required course material for the intensive study portion of the course, including preparation and grading of all assignments.
- Supervise and maintain responsibility for regular student contact through the course site during the distance education portion of the course and provide a venue that supports student engagement and learning.
- meeting strict deadlines and delivery schedules
Content expert qualifications include:
- academic qualifications in a course discipline sufficient for appointment as a faculty member in 黄色直播鈥檚 Faculty of Management
- experience in course development and teaching at the graduate level, with a demonstrated record of teaching excellence
- successful experience in course delivery in a distance education mode is desirable, although not mandatory for participation in the project
A stipend of approximately $ 7154.50 is offered for this teaching assignment.
