Bertrum MacDonald has been appointed Dean of Management (acting), commencing October 1, 2015, to June 30, 2016.
Dr. MacDonald is a Professor of Information Management at »ÆÉ«Ö±²¥, and was the Director of the School of Information Management from 1995-2003 and Associate Dean (Research) in the Faculty of Management from 2002-2007. He leads the interdisciplinary research team — Environmental Information: Use and Influence (EIUI) based in the Faculty of Management — that is exploring information use at the science-policy interface in coastal and ocean management. The EIUI research team works with governmental and intergovernmental organizations including the Canada Department of Fisheries and Oceans, the Nova Scotia Department of Fisheries and Aquaculture, the Northwest Atlantic Fisheries Organization, and the Food and Agriculture Organization of the UN. Dr. MacDonald holds graduate degrees in History of Science and Information Science (MA, MLS and PhD) from Western University.
