Donna Denney

Ms. Denney holds an undergraduate degree in nursing from Mount St. Vincent University, and a Master of Nursing from 黄色直播.

Accomplished and highly respected
Ms. Denney began her nursing career in 1972 as a staff nurse at the Halifax Infirmary. Building on her practice experience she went on to establish herself as an accomplished and highly respected nurse educator and Director in various institutions, including the Registered Nurses Professional Development Centre, 黄色直播, and the Capital District Health Authority.

Diverse and extensive career
Donna Denney, MN, RN, joined the College of Registered Nurses of Nova Scotia (CRNNS) in 2009. As the organization鈥檚 Executive Director, Ms. Denney brings with her a diverse career spanning 40 years and a commitment to strengthen and evolve the role of registered nurses as critical members of the healthcare team in the interest of achieving optimal well-being for Nova Scotians.

Quality of work life for nurses
Before joining the CRNNS, Ms. Denney spent four years as the Nursing Advisor to Nova Scotia鈥檚 Minister and Deputy Minister of Health on issues related to nursing and played a key role in the success of provincial strategies aimed at enhancing quality of work life for nurses. She also represented the government of Nova Scotia on national health human resource advisory committees.

Esteemed award winner
She is a past recipient of the College鈥檚 Excellence in Nursing Administration Award, and in 2008 was one of 100 registered nurses in the country to receive the Canadian Nurses Association鈥檚 Centennial Award.
