Prior to this I completed a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and a Master's in Occupational Therapy. The research focused on improving access to evidence-based care through the use of innovative delivery methods. I applied the knowledge I gained through school and gained additional certification as a Certified Clinical Research Professional."

Department of Health and Wellness

What attracted you to »ÆÉ«Ö±²¥'s MHA?

"Through my role as a coordinator I had the opportunity to meet individuals involved in healthcare administration and to learn about the challenges faced in the Canadian health care system. For years I looked at job opportunities in administration but the gap between my knowledge base and what was required prevented me from moving forward. This year the time was right for me to pursue a degree and close this gap.

What were the key strengths/highlights of your MHA experience?

"I look forward to discussions in class when the students ask questions and share their ideas. The room becomes full of positive energy. Professors are supportive both inside and outside of the classroom - I always feel like I can go to them for help or for an interesting conversation. The other highlights for me come from my interactions with the other students. They are an interesting and fun group of people and we are always there to help one another."

What advice would you give to someone considering the MHA?

"It is important for students entering the program to be clear what they want from it. The program is a fantastic opportunity to learn in a supportive, positive environment."

"The MHA program has small classes so we all have the opportunity to get to know each other. The faculty and staff at the school are helpful and supportive and you really get the feeling that they all want you to succeed."
