Dr. Mae Seto has been appointed to the Irving Shipbuilding Research Chair in Marine Engineering and Autonomous Systems.
The work of the chair will concern advancements in the decision-making and problem-solving power of marine autonomous systems, with potential benefits for a range of industries, including research, marine transportation, search & rescue, energy, and defense.
In addition to its research aims, the chair will aim to build a foundation of sustainable Canadian talent in the field, by housing research projects for graduate students and introducing new undergraduate courses in marine engineering.
