Industrial Engineering student Keilah Bias, attended the ASEE Annual Conference in Seattle, WA. The design team she was a part of was comprised of students from Dal (Keilah), UNB and UPEI. The team competed againist 8-10 engineering teams from across the United States, and were the only Canadian team in the competition. The team took first place in the competition for their design. 听
The team's winning project is a charcoal press, whih is meant to help prevent the deforestation currently underway across Kenya. Keilah brought the charcoal press to Kenya this past February, and it was received with much enthusiasm from local farmers.
