Over half of a general dentist鈥檚 income depends on the curing light and almost all of the dental resins and adhesives made depend on adequate light curing.聽聽The symposium developed strategies to better inform dentists about their curing light, the importance of adequate light curing, and how manufacturers can improve the design of both their curing lights and resins. The potential negative impacts of using budget curing lights that are available online were discussed and a cautionary reminder has been issued by the Canadian Dental Association and the Dental Industry Association of Canada (DIAC) about the importance of purchasing and using licensed devices.聽
