The Faculty of Agriculture, »ÆÉ«Ö±²¥ is a small research-intensive campus located in Truro, NS. Offering technical, undergraduate and graduate programs in agriculture, environment and related life and social science disciplines, the Faculty of Agriculture educates future leaders and generates knowledge and innovative solutions for healthy, sustainable societies.
Duties:
A postdoctoral position is available immediately to undertake a project relating to bioconvertion of plant residues in to plant biostimulants product that will improve plant tolerance to abiotic stresses. This project involves use of enzymes and microbial fermentation technology. The biological activity of product will be tested using assay systems developed in our laboratory. ÌýThe successful candidate will be encouraged to participate in undergraduate/graduate teaching in his/her area of specialization.
Qualifications:
The successful candidate must have Ph.D. degree (completed within the last two years) in Microbiology, Fermentation technology, Biology, Biochemistry or a related discipline with demonstrated experience in bioconversion/fermentation. Superior communication skills are essential. The position is initially for two year with a possible extension based on performance and productivity.
Salary:Ìý Commensurate with education and experience.

Duties:
A postdoctoral position is available immediately to study the molecular mechanisms of activity of chemical components of seaweeds (marine macroalga). The candidate will study the effect of chemical components of seaweeds on gene expression and non-coding RNAs and how it affects the plant phenotype using Arabidopsis thaliana. The candidate will be actively involved in the development of cell culture, whole plant and molecular based bioassay systems to isolate active compound(s) from marine plants. The successful candidate will be encouraged to participate in undergraduate/graduate teaching in his/her area of specialization.
Qualifications:
The successful candidate must have Ph.D. degree (completed within the last two years) in Plant Biology or a related discipline with demonstrated experience in standard molecular biology techniques and plant transformation. Superior communication skills are essential. The position is initially for two year with a possible extension based on performance and productivity.
Salary: Commensurate with education and experience.
