Rams Weekend Recap

Soccer

DAL AC has placed four soccer players on the ACAA All-Conference Team.  On the men’s side Craig MacEachern (1st team) and Rich MacNevin (2nd team) were selected and the women’s team is represented by Emily Merks (2nd team) and Sian Rankin (1st team).  Cora Sharp was selected for the prestigious Gerry LeBlanc Award, which is given to a soccer player in the women’s division who shows skill, sportsmanship, team leadership and community involvement at the institution and their home community.

The awards were presented at the 2015 ACAA All-Conference Awards Banquet held at UKC prior to the Championship Games last weekend.

Rugby

The Rams finished the 2015 League Schedule with a 46-5 win over UKC last week.  Scoring for the Rams with single tries were Emily Beault, Tamara Snook, Sarah Levesque, Jocelyn Manley and Kathleen Sterrit.  Winger, Ann Douglas scored 3 tries for the Rams.  Sarah Levesque converted three tries.

The Rams finished the league in 4th spot with a 2-5-1 record.  Two Rams made the ACAA All-Conference Rugby Team.   Katie McQueen (scrum half) and Jill Bent (stand off) were selected to the 2015 ACAA All-Conference Team.

Basketball

The Rams started the 2015-16 ACAA league schedule against defending champions Holland College  .  The Rams had a great first quarter , but could not keep pace with the Canes.  The final was 122-46 with the Rams being led by 3rd year veteran Neel Amin (14), rookie Isaac Bokma (13) and rookie point guard Brian Sawler (8).

Volleyball

The Rams started the year on the road with their first match in Charlottetown against the Holland College Hurricanes. Recovering from a slow start the Rams won the second set but lost the match 3-1.  Leading the Rams were Thea McLauchlin with 10 kills/3 blocks and Katie McNutt with 6 kills/6assists/6digs.  The second match for the Rams was their home opener against MTA Mounties.  The Rams had a great start winning the first set, but then lost the next three .  The Rams were led by Katie McNutt with 5 kills/13 assists/3 digs and Thea McLauchlin with 12 kills/3 service aces and 11 digs.
