The Rural Research Centre and NSDA's ThinkFARM program are conducting online survey research - if you're in touch with farmers ages 18 to 40, please forward the following notice to them:
»ÆÉ«Ö±²¥'s Rural Research Centre and the Nova Scotia Department of Agriculture are undertaking a study on young farmers' access to capital. We are hoping to determine beginning farmers and farm lender perceptions on the issue of access to capital and identify possible risk factors and/or perceptions that create barriers to credit and capital for young farmers.Â
The results of this study will be used to add to knowledge on this issue of access to capital and also may inform future program and policy development. Your participation will make a valuable contribution to this research. Survey participants should be individuals between the ages of 18 and 40 who are farming or plan to farm in Nova Scotia and have sought or obtained funding for a farm start-up or to purchase a farm (either a family or non-family transfer) within the last seven years.Â
The survey should take you approximately 10-20 minutes to complete.
