Biography: MargoÌýLainne Greenwood, of Cree ancestry, is a Canadian senatorÌýand Indigenous scholar with expertise in early childhood care and education of Indigenous children. Greenwood was the founding Scientific Director and then Academic Leader of the National Collaborating Centre for Aboriginal Health for 22 years and a Professor in the First Nations Studies and Education programs at theÌýUniversity of Northern British Columbia.ÌýIn 2021, Greenwood was appointed as an Officer of the Order of CanadaÌýfor "her scholarship as a professor of early childhood education, and for her transformational leadership in Indigenous health policy".
