Francophone Association for the Advancement of Sciences

Acfas (the Francophone Association for the Advancement of Sciences) is pleased to open a call for applications for the . This program aims to encourage research collaborations between two French-speaking researchers (or teams) from different provinces or from a province and a territory, by offering mobility grants of up to $5,000 per year. The call is open until September 10.

  • Who is eligible as a visiting scholar?

Graduate students, postdoctoral fellows, research professionals and professors who are associated with a public university in New Brunswick, Ontario, Nova Scotia, Quebec or at Université de Saint-Boniface.

  • Who is eligible as a host environment for a visiting scholar?

Professors, research professionals, research chairs and research groups who are associated with a public university in a Canadian province or territory (all provinces and territories are eligible), as well as publishers of French-language or bilingual scholarly journals in a territory or province of Canada.

Five types of collaborative projects are eligible:

  1. Collaboration in a research project between two established researchers (research professionals, professors, postdoctoral fellows, etc.);
  2. Collaboration in a research project between an established researcher and graduate student;
  3. Collaboration in a research project between two research teams based in different provinces or territories;
  4. Internship of a graduate student in a research group, a research chair or a scholarly journal, to carry out various mandates that may go beyond research, for example the administration of the journal, linguistic revision, translation, etc.;
  5. Participation of a graduate student in a summer school in another province or territory.

Visiting scholars must identify a host environment before submitting their application, and attach to their application a letter of collaboration from this environment. (in French).

Deadlines
