The is sparking a race for breakthroughs in sustainability science, to accelerate the development of the solutions that will restore and ensure a healthy planet. The Foundation hopes to achieve its mission by sponsoring this new international competition that will award three prizes of oneÌýmillion Swiss Francs each.
The Frontiers Planet Prize will be awarded to the best research published in established scientific journals, with robust peer-review and transparent publication procedures, within the past two years (date of acceptance: November 1 2020 to October 31 2022).
This important new Prize will recognize, encourage, and reward exceptional scientists whose work could have a measurable potential to help humanity stay within one or more of the nine planetary boundaries:
- climate change
- loss of biodiversity
- biogeochemical flows
- ocean acidification
- land use change
- overuse of freshwater
- stratospheric ozone layer
- atmospheric aerosol loading
- novel entities
The application process is straightforward. Complete the attached [PDF 1MB] and send it toÌýresearch@dal.ca, by October 31, 2022.
