Canada’s health researchers have a valuable source of data with the (CLSA), a large, national research platform, which is a strategic initiative of the Canadian Institutes of Health Research.
The CLSA team is following 51,000 Canadians, aged 45 to 85 at recruitment, for 20 years. They are collecting data from participants on health status, physical assessments, diseases, cognition, psychological well-being and mental health, social well-being, economic aspects of aging, and blood-based biological markers.
The team has now completed baseline data collection. This rich data set is available for use by researchers working in all areas of health and psychosocial well-being. Â
