Proposal application deadline extended to 25 January, 2017.
The OERA, Nova Scotia Innovation Corporation (Innovacorp) and the Province of Nova Scotia have teamed up to fund a joint research call in tidal energy research. The competition is seeking proposals from Nova Scotia based (small and medium enterprise) company-led collaborations, that offer innovation in sensing, imaging and instrumentation technologies for environmental monitoring relevant to three key research priority areas, specifically: Fish, Marine Mammals, and Noise.
This research opportunity is intended to support the development of new approaches or innovation adaptations of existing or off-the-shelf technologies, then field test these technologies in order to improve monitoring capabilities suitable for use in high flow marine environments. The goal is to bring technology innovation to the sector that can lead to incremental improvements in such areas as data quality and quantity acquisition, collection methods, and/or setting standards for underwater monitoring tools.
