The Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR) has launched a funding opportunity to use data and biosamples from existing cohorts and databases to address . The three strategic priorities the grants focus on include:
·        Targeting High Fatality Cancers (cancers with a mortality rate/incidence rate of >75%);
·        Health Economics and Health Services Research in Cancer Control;
·        Redressing Cancer Risk Factor Disparities and Prevention Service Inequities.
Data and biosamples available for request from the Canadian Partnership for Tomorrow Project (CPTP) meet the eligibility requirements of the grant, and includes information on lifestyle, health behaviours, history of disease, and several other risk factors that contribute to the development of cancer.
For more information, including how to apply for CPTP data and biosamples to support an application to this funding opportunity, we invite you to a webinar hosted by CPTP on August 24th, 2016 at 1:00 PM EST. .
