The Networks of Centres of Excellence (NCE) has launched the International Knowledge Translation Platforms (IKTP) initiative, and is now accepting letters of intent (LOI) for proposals focussed on enhancing and supporting international collaborations between networks, centres, consortia and their partners.
Specific objectives of the new initiative include: expanding strategic international partnerships through multi-disciplinary and multi-sectoral networks; accelerating the international exchange of research results; reducing barriers to international research activities; fostering knowledge mobilization internationally; identifying knowledge gaps; and providing training opportunities.
Other features of the initiative:
- Networks are expected to be multidisciplinary, in areas that fall under the domains of two or more of the three federal granting agencies;
- Successful networks must incorporate federally as not-for-profit corporations before funds can be received;
- Network collaborations are expected to be beyond the individual (i.e. researcher-to-researcher) level.
Successful applicants will be awarded up to $400,000 per year for four years.
.
Because the lead institution on these proposals must serve as the host for the network, an internal review and approval process will be put in place to facilitate institutional submissions. Any »ÆÉ«Ö±²¥ researchers interested in this opportunity are asked to contact the International Research Facilitator (jennifer.morawiecki@dal.ca) as soon as possible.
