Information Session: Weston Brain Institute launches ALS Grant Program

The Weston Brain Institute is delighted to launch ourÌýCanada:ÌýALS 2016Ìýprogram to support translational research of outstanding scientific merit that will accelerate the development of safe and effective therapeutics for amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS).

Funding & Eligibility

Applicants may apply toÌýbothÌýthe Canada: ALS 2016 Rapid Response program and Canada: ALS 2016 Transformational Research program.

Canada: ALS 2016 Transformational Research

· Seed funding for novel, high-risk, high-reward research

· Up toÌý$150,000ÌýandÌý18 monthsÌýper project

· Preliminary data is optional

· Principal Applicants must be at the level of Postdoctoral Fellow or higher

· Applicants can only appear once as either the Principal Applicant or the Administrative Supervisor

· Larger, longer grants that significantly advance preclinical research

· Up toÌýÌý$1.5 millionÌýandÌý3 yearsÌýper project

· Must have excellent preliminary data

· Principal Applicants must be at the level of Assistant Professor or higher
