ERA‑Can+ Twinning Programme

Posted by Suman Jha on October 13, 2015 in Research Funding

The ERA-Can+ Twinning Programme aims to support close collaboration between already-existing European and Canadian research endeavours, to develop new strategic, long-term international partnerships. The programme will support the pairing of European-funded projects and Canadian-funded projects so that project partners may undertake new networking and research collaborations.

Each twinning project should consist of at least one EU-funded project consortium (funded by FP7 or Horizon 2020), and one Canadian project funded either at the federal or provincial level. Canadian project participants may include researchers and innovators from universities, research institutes and from the private sector. Both projects should be either running or have been completed less than two years prior to the proposal submission deadline.

Applications may align with any thematic area, however, priority will be given to the following key cooperation areas which have been jointly identified by the European Commission and DFATD: aeronautics, space, the Arctic, health, ICT, marine and maritime research, food security and sustainable agriculture.

Twinning projects will be supported with up to €6,000 per application.

Any faculty member interested in submitting a proposal is asked to contact the International Research Facilitator (jennifer.morawiecki@dal.ca) for further information and support in preparing an application.

Deadline: 4 January 2016
