Genome Canada is seeking proposals for applied research projects focused on using genomic approaches to address challenges and opportunities of importance to Canada’s natural resources and environment sectors. The scope of this funding opportunity will include areas such as energy, mining, forestry, water stewardship, wildlife management/conservation and bioproducts that help conserve natural resources and protect the environment. It also includes the use of genomics to identify key elements that impact ecosystem structure, function and diversity.
This is a partnership program – Genome Canada will fund 33 per cent of project costs; the remaining 67 per cent must come from other sources. Budgets can range in size from $2M-$10M and project duration can be for as long as 4 years.
All interested researchers must register by July 31, 2015.
